Personal Log — Lt. Tuhjer Mil - Starbase 870, Final Week of Assignment

208 words; about a 1 minute read
I received my transfer orders today. In a short while, I’ll be boarding the USS Scharnhorst as their new Chief Diplomatic Officer, a role I’ve worked toward since my first posting. The thought of stepping into that responsibility feels right, like the next piece of my career finally sliding into place.
But leaving Commander Ryan Lewis behind on Starbase 870… that part sits heavier than I expected. He’s been more than a superior officer; he’s been the steady voice that shaped me from a green Ensign into someone ready to take on a department of my own. Every negotiation drill, every late-night debrief, every “try it again, Mil” has left its mark.
I’ll miss the rhythm of working with him. I’ll miss the way he could cut through a diplomatic snarl with a few well‑chosen words. I’ll miss the quiet confidence he always seemed to have in me, even before I had it in myself.
Still, the Scharnhorst awaits, and I intend to make the most of the trust Starfleet has placed in me. If I can carry even a fraction of what Commander Lewis taught me into this new role, I’ll be off to a strong start.
End log.
