Mission: Episode 1: Shadows of Diplomacy
Location: Risa Safehouse

Tyler took Rayven and Mindy to the safe house. "Eddie is resourceful, he tracked our escape shuttle. We will get off this planet. Mindy is playing in that room right there, and I have sent word to the USS Scharnhorst, they are coming to extract us personally." Tyler said, as he looked to Rayven, waiting for her response.

"How did that slimy piece of slime find me?," Rayven fumed "I don't want to put the ship and crew in danger because of him. I get the chance I'll kill him."

"You might get your wish, how he found out is not important. Your safety is. There be time to investigate later. We need to stay ahead of him. Think three moves ahead." Tyler pointed out, her safety was his primary mission.

Rayven walked over to where Mindy was playing, after watching her for a few minutes Rayven returned to where Tyler was and resumed her seat "My main concern is my daughter. But I hate to put the ship in danger because of Eddie. It's not fair to my new assignment."

"I wouldn't worry about that right now, Captain Kellen is not a guy that really leaves people behind. He has a troubled past just to give you a fair warning but he's also a family man. I have another shuttle that'll keep us on the run. It won't be ready for a couple hours we're trying to avoid attention." Tyler suggested to Rayven.

"The captain must be some kind of man, I'm looking forward to getting back to work. While I love my family business I am a scientist and I belong in space, that or cliff diving and right now space is calling. I can always dive," Rayven said "My top concern is keeping my daughter safe."

"Yep you mentioned that, we'll make sure she's safe. You're not alone. I'm here with you, we'll get through this together." Tyler said with a genuine concern and care in his voice.

"I'm sorry, I'm rambling. I know we can keep her safe. Thank you for caring and yes we'll do it together. Are you going to be on the Scharnhorst with us when we get there?" Rayven asked.

"I will be here, you both are my top priority at the moment." Tyler said with a warm smile on his face. I took Rayven's hand for a moment. "You got this, okay."

Rayven nodded "I know, he's been a throne in my side since I broke the engagement and won't let him near Mindy. She doesn't know who he is and I won't let her know."

"And we're taking every step to make sure that happens, we're not sure how he found you but he did. But you're safest place is on a Starship. We have a few hours until we can assure that but we'll be moving here shortly. We need to keep moving so that way he can't track you down." Tyler pointed out to her, letting her know the severity of the situation and how they got to keep moving in order to guarantee their safety.

Rayven sighed she knew he was right. "I'll say this once, if it comes down to Mindy or me you save Mindy. How soon do you want to move?"

"Soon as soon as I get the green light we're going to move. I'm verifying with my contacts that are next safe house is not compromise." Tyler said, has he looked to his data pad. So far nothing but he was hoping that would change soon.

Twenty minutes later...

I got the order, get Mindy let's get ready to go." Tyler ordered, feeling a little guilty that he is being demanding but his top priority right now was their safety. While she was getting Mindy he was scrubbing any records of them being at the safe house. And encrypting all the files.

Rayven walked into the playroom where Mindy was playing" Rayven held out her hand to her daughter.

Mindy picked up her backpack that held her coloring books, colored pencils and crayons. Taking her mother's hand they walked into the room where Tyler was "Think your new captain likes kids and dogs?" Mindy asked.

"I'm sure he does," Rayven assured her as she checked checked her phaser keeping it out of sight of Mindy, "We're ready."

"I know for a fact he does, do you have a dog or you getting a dog?" Tyler asked, as he motioned for them to head to the shuttle craft that was hovering near by. Once they were outside, they were beamed aboard, and the shuttle took off.

Location: Shuttlecraft

"We are heading to the southern region, should be there shortly." Tyler suggested as he helped Mindy sit down in the uncomfortable seats. "

"She has a Beagle, she named him Wizzer, " Rayven said. "My parents gave him to her a couple years ago." Rayven took a seat and watched as the shuttle took off.

"Mommy I'm tired," Mindy spoke up.

"Go to sleep honey, you've had a long day," Rayven said.

"Will beam the dog up, when we meet up with the Scharnhorst. I don't think Eddie will go after the dog. It could be traumatic for the dog to be on the constant move. Already bad enough having to move Mindy so frequently." Tyler explained to Rayven, as he wrapped Mindy in a blanket.

"Wizzer is used to being beamed up," Mindy replied as she snuggled into the blanket. "Mommy who is Eddie?"

"No one you need to worry about,," Rayven said "Go to sleep and let mommy and Mr. Tyler worry about things."

"Wizzer gonna come too right mommy?" Mindy asked yawning

"Yes he's coming too, Now get some sleep," Rayven said as Mindy drifted off to sleep. "She loves that dog and if I have to I can put him in status,"

"No way, dogs should not go in status. We will get him. I am already working on it. Trust me. I know you barely know me, but trust me." Tyler said, as took her hand to show her how sincere he was.

"Thank you," Rayven said smiling, "It's been a long time since since I've trusted anyone so to speak."

"I understand, the shuttle should be taken off shortly." As soon as Tyler said that the shuttle took off, talk about timing he said to himself. The jolt from the engines was sudden, said in and he almost slipped if he wasn't hanging on to Rayven he would have. "Thank you for catching me."

Rayven giggled feeling at ease all of a sudden, "It wasn't planned and it's been a long time since I've had the pleasure of holding onto a handsome man."

"Oh boy, not suppose to get friendly with the target. But I can't help it." Tyler said, feeling a little guilty. He really appreciated her compliment.

"If I've made you uncomfortable I'm sorry. I should have asked you if your married or spoken for," Rayven said.

"Non of those things, you are my assignment. Not suppose to fall for your assignment. But the good news we are going to be co workers, I am staying on the Scharnhorst.. For the record, I am not married or seeing anyone." Tyler said, hoping that made things clearer.

Rayven smiled "I've been called a lot of things over the years, mommy, lieutenant, Rayven and daughter but never an assignment. I am looking forward to getting back to work. When your not taking care of an assignment what will you be doing on the ship?" she glanced over at Mindy who was sound asleep, "She's had a busy day."

"I wish I could say its over, but to answer your other question. I am the Assistant Chief Intelligence Officer." Tyler said, as the shuttle continued towards the southern region. The shuttle started to decelerate.

"Assistant Chief Intelligence Officer, I'm sure you've had some interesting things happen. That is one area I've never understood, From what I know of it, it's one where secrecy is paramount to what you do, Starfleet couldn't have assigned us a better person to see us safely to the ship," Rayven commented "It feels as if we're slowing down."

"These shuttles are pretty quick, I had the helm punch us hard. I don't want to give Eddie any chances." Tyler suggested as the shuttle stop. Tyler walked over to the transporter padd. "Ready to beam down?"

"I'm ready," Rayven said as she picked up Mindy's back pack and the gently picked up her sleeping daughter, Mindy's head rested on Rayven's shoulder. Carrying Mindy Rayven stepped onto the transporter padd.
